I believe I have used these jigs. Very nice jigs. I found the smallest size too small to get a good hookset. When you put a waxi on I did not see a major diference in sink rate between these jigs and same size lead jig. I did like them and would buy more.

I have heard great things about these jigs. I asked for some for christmas. Stocking stuffers from the wife. I am really looking forward to trying them this winter.

I have not used there newer jigs but, I have used the old moon jig that they say started the glowing jig crazy. My son and I have had good luck with them over the years. Some times it is a go to bait for my son. He will start with it and finish with at the end of the day. gary

I buy some other products from K&E,but $12 for 6 jigs ($2/ea)plus shipping is more than I care to spend on something I have more than enough of already. I really don’t think that tiny bit of lead in a “normal” ice jig is going to ruin the environment.

It’s a wise move on their part. There’s places – and there’s gonna be more places – where lead is completely banned.

I purchased one of these last week. I have not used it yet but I love the concept of a heavier jig with a lighter profile. I think it will shine brightest when fishing pannies in 15+ fow…most jigs take FOREVER to get down there even on 2#

I will report back after i have used it.

I own a lot of differnt panfish stuff but when I’m out gil hunting with my eyes changing lures is not a priority so I tend to focus more on presentation.

They say imitation is the highest form of flattery. It looks like a CJS diamaond jig to me. At that cost I’d just buy the original. You can’t beat the paint quality on CJS

    +1
first thing I thought was a gill pill/diamond jig hybrid.

Exactly my first impression…..an extra buck for how much more weight?

I’ll stick to the originals too

I believe 50% heavier. But CJS has my vote too. Although I would be interested in fishing the two metals side by side once.

Ive used fiskas wolfram(tungsten) jigs for years now and have used diamond jigs. Hands down the tungsten jigs will sink faster light years ahead of a lead jig. I find myself adding a split shot to most lead jigs when I use them just to get them to sink faster. I’m not knocking CJS but In my own opinion fiskas jigs get my vote 99% of the time. I know they are pricey but they are high quality jigs, the paint lasts and have super sharp even sticky hooks. I guess I cant stand it when the marcum is lit up and you see this fluttering mark taking its time to get down. Dan

I agree 100% with you Dan. I have both Diamond Jigs and the Fiskas. They both have their place, but for deeper water I love the Heavier jigs and the quality of the Fiskas jigs is amazing!

I’ve got some of the Skandia jigs. I think they’re awesome! The extra weight of the tungsten makes a huge difference in sink rate for fishing in deep water, and the paint finish is very nice. I have a bunch of the CJ&S gill pills and I like them, but they don’t have nearly as nice of a finish as the Skandias. The extra weight and finish make these the cat’s meow!

The flat bottom on the Gill Pill slows the fall of the jig, if you want a jig to fall faster put on a Diamond Jig or a Demon Jig. When the fish are finicky a Gill Pill with a single spike does a heck of a job getting those finicky fish to commit. CJ&S have the right size and weight jigs to suit my needs.

Like I stated I own a lot of CJ&S products. And if you were to ask my wife she would say way to many! My point is None of us are speaking badly of their products, and we by no mean are trying to ruffle anybody’s feathers.

I used one of those tungston jigs this weekend with great results. I will have to pick up a few more. I was catching gills in 25 fow and the higher density and smaller profile definately helped get it down there faster. I would definately recomend these.

It says Tunsten Weight not Tunsten Jigs. I have some and they are SMALL. Watch the words.

i’ve got some skandias…..only seem to make it out of the boxes if i’m fishing deeper than 30 FOW…otherwise it’s CJS for me….sure wish CJS would introduce some tungsten into their lineup so i could avoid feeding european pocketbooks!!!

First i would like to say that CJ&S is an amazing company and i love thier products but on this one i would have to go with the fiskas I have used both the diamond jig and these tungsten jigs and the diamond jig just cannot compare the paint quality is not even compareable atleast in my experience they fall even faster than the diamond jig and the shape of both is almost identical. the diamond jig is good but the tungsten is great. its worth the money if you can spare it but use what works for you. If you like one better than the other than use it. I still buy both and use both but when i am on a hot perch bite in 35 fow its the fiskas all the way no question about it.
