    Do I really need to update my software version of my showdown from a 3.2 to a 5.6? Is it really worth the money or what?

    If you’re completely happy with the way the unit performs now I guess there’s no “absolutely you must” type reason for you to do so.

    The 5.6 upgrade provides the following:

    1 – foot incremental zoom.
    Greatly improved interference rejection system.
    Reduces surface clutter.
    Eliminates scale jumping.

    If you’ve had any issues with interference rejection or would like the 1′ adjustable zoom capability the upgrade might be worth a look for you.
