Just ordered 2 32″ Power Noodles with Okuma fly reals. Can not wait to get one in my hands to see how they feel. One is a x-mas present for my father and I had to get one for myself. Sounds like they are about 2-3 weeks out.

question: Has anyone seen the “off-white” power noodles yet? i’m in the market for a new noodle and want to know what the difference between rod blanks is- other than color???

It’s the same blank no difference in action the company that makes there blanks just changed the color of the graphite. It will be the only white rod on the market.

The noodles are a fiberglass rod. And its because the major company that uses the fiberglass wanted white. So now the powernoodles will be white when they are out of the old blanks.

Performance wise there is nothing different between the two blanks. I think they look pretty cool. When I first saw them I though we had glow in the dark blanks, but no!

People will not mistake what your holding with them now!

    Fly reel backing.

Of course Thorne Brothers carries the stuff too. I just couldn’t find a link to it in their online store.

Fiberglass rods have a dye injected into them to make them the color wanted, these powernoodle rods were needed like yesterday so they shipped without the dye, if you ask me they look cool. I am thinking in the future you will see other colors start to appear. St.Croix summer rods have a variety of colors, so I would think the ice fishing rods wouldn’t be too far behind with “custom” colors as well…
