    Howdy,
I bought a Quiver Stick last year after hearing about them on this forum and really like it. I wanted an idea of what a good rod should feel and look like and have not been disappointed.
But I have also picked up a few of the Bro Series Frabill rods and for the money think they are pretty hard to beat. I don’t see much mention of them here and was hoping to get some feed back on what you all think about them.
    Thanks,
    jk

The Bro Quick tips are a nice rod, certainly not a Thorne rod though. I’d opt for one thats a little longer to get the most out of the tip’s action. I have a number of the Bro rods and they are nice.

One of big gripes about any of the package rods is that things have a tough time getting lined up properly on the blank and Frabil rods are really pretty good about not having that problem. For the money they do a great job and I’d have no problem saying go for it.

I watched the In-fisherman Ice show that featured bro fishing with his quick tip rod. Looked really nice, and a good alternative to spending $80+ on an ice rod, which I cannot justify. I was planning on checking them out, but have not seen them in any stores yet. Frabill really has a huge selection of rods, but the only ones I see in stores like gander and FF are the cheap panfish popper rods.
Where did you pick yours up?

    Red89,
Both Scheels in Coralville and Fin and Feather have them in our Iowa City area. But Thorne carries them too. The combo seems to be a pretty good deal. The reel is nice enough, I like the way the handle can fold out of the way easily.
The combo would help to offset the thought of shipping costs.

I have been using the Bro series quik tip since they came out and love them. The fast tip and strong backbone is a great combination for all panfish ,have caught the occasional walleye and the rod has handled it well.I have a TB noodle and it is anice rod and I am looking forward to using it.It is also twice the cost of a Bro combo.Gander and Cabelas normally carry these rods

I have a 36″ Frabill hole hopper rod. I like it, it is light and very sensitive. I don’t even need the spring bobber on the end that it came with. I also think it still has enough back bone for bigger fish. By far the best one I have.

I really feel you can’t go wrong with the Frabill line of ice rods, they put out a great product, and at a great price. I like the Bro Micro light, with a frabill spring bobber on it for fishing in the shack for panfish, and if I am hole hopping the Bro quick tip works great! You really can’t go wrong with the frabill ice rods at all.

My panfish poppers have popped a lot of panfish and are still going strong with near a decade of use. I have upgraded to some “nicer rods” the last few years but still find one or two of my backup panfish poppers is always in the rod bag.

Those popper springs have accounted for a lot of fish, I just wish the springs had a little more substance to them. They are a real headache on open ice in the cold, but for a portable or a house they are one nice utility spring-rod. I’ll still take the Bro Quick tip over the popper though.

I had the quick tip last season and you cant see as many bites as you can with the powernoodle in my opinion. I have a powernoodle now and love it. But I will say that I still use the quick tip for different reasons, I also have one of the frabill perch rods. I jig chubby darters and any spoon really with it with no problem. If your looking for a good inexpensive rod look at the clam line of rods too.
