What are you guys using for line? Use a leader?

I looked at mine tonight and the line needs to be replaced.

i usually just use braided dacron in almost any pound test you want. i prefer white line so when you get up to your tip-up and its not spinning you can see which way the line is going. but I’ve found its really hard to find white tip-up line. and yes i use a leader. either a 8-10 pound mono for walleyes and twist-weld wire leaders for pike.

For tip-up line I usually use my old musky line, cortland mater braid in 80 pound test. For walleye I use a leader made of Berkley vanish fluorocarbon in 10 or 14 pound test that is about 2-3 feet long, a bit longer that needed probably but I know I am going to be re-tying a lot. For pike I use the same line with a seven strand leader that is about a foot long.

    Good Luck,
