We are starting to get ice on most lakes from 2-4 inches on the smaller lakes (Detroit Lakes Area). A hovercraft went in on Island Lake this weekend. The people onboard were lucky to get pulled out by another rescue hovercraft.

Ice fished up on Nelson Lake outside of Hayward on Friday night. The north end of the lake had 4 – 5 inches. The south end where we were staying only had 2 inches (not enough for my 200# of pure table muscle).

Unfortunately, I only had 1 flag and caught no fish.

    Ouch that hurts Pat !!

The duluth area is getting there, boulder lake out of silver fox resort is fishable with 4 to 5 inches of ice. The st louis is just about there. Now we just have to see what this next storm has in store for us Hopefully rain and no snow, then it will all freeze tuesday night and we wont have slush on the river, too late for the inland lakes
