After my 1st get together, even tho I did not get a bite I had a very fun time. My buddy fishing with got 5 too short walleyes so I was happy for him. He had never used a Vexilar and was really impressed by it, even tho the marks were very limited.

Great buch of guys and gals. Apple Pie and Ice Hole were good, edred potato soup was better!! Thanks to everyone for your hospitality and for drilling holes for us with the power auger. Next time I want holes with fish tho.

Anxious to hear if there was a late afternoon bite or if ecnook just tricked us about being bit off.

    Again, thanks to everyone!!!!

    What a great time!

Having the chance for my son Cam and I to greet old friends and meet new ones will be a major highlight this year. Thanks a ton Pat for the prep that Marshal and yourself put in, nice to shake your hand and spend some time chopping up the ice and shooting the breeze The bite was ultra tuff but that’s something that simply can’t be avoided.

Good food and drink, stories and laughter, and to cap it off with a Pack victory was an unforgettable topper.

I will not even attempt to describe the mood during the second half at Ed and Lupes room. I will say this, my son Cam has a new hero in Dave Koonce That’s all that will be said

Thanks again Pat for the hard work and thanks to everyone there for the good times

pic 1……….Stacy had BK literally falling at her feet. (I have got to get faster with the camera)

2……Koonce putting on a mini clinic with a slick little rattle reel. Later Dave would put on laughing clinics

3…….After a tough bite Cam finally scored the only fish between us for the day. Smile says alot right there……we had a ball!

Now if you’ll excuse me I have to apply duct tape over Cams mouth befor he talks to Mom

Cam’s a big boy. Sorry Mr Clark couldn’t make it. The thumping Cam owes you will hurt way worse the bigger he gets

Thanks to everyone that put in all the time and effort it took to put that together. I had a great time and it was good to finally meet a lot of the great people that frequent IDO. somehow I ended up with Koonce’s grilling thongs on my truck antenna at the end of the night but they did not survive the trip back to Portage. If someone finds them, I hope he gets them back.

We would like to thank Pat and Marshall for setting this up! Lupe and I didn’t catch any thing, except maybe a buzz for me, It was great seeing old friends and making some new ones. The apple pie seemed to be a hit, and the soup and brats and venison really tasted great!! Thanks to the grill masters!! The evening get together was very entertaining!! I don’t think the bar maid expected us to stay as late as we did but oh well. We ended up back at our room and finished watching the football game, that is when it got the most entertaining!!! I can’t wait until the next one, and I may try to make peach pie for that one!!

    Don’t listen to him.

I think I was hoodwinked in this whole catfish thing. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen that many scales at a whiskered fish gtg. It was pure ‘ell.

Pat and Marshall… What more can I say? Thank you guys!

BTW once your dad put his 12 sausage in my hands, I knew everything was ok in the world. And for you folks that wondered why his sausage wasn’t shared…well, I’ll share pretty much anything, but not Marshall’s Dad’s sausage. I was a little upset the FW tried a piece tonight. ’nuff about that.

Ed, you are now the official IDo Grill Guy and Desert Maker!

I only captured one photo to share.

One thing I can say for sure, is my Wife had a great time. She has a new-found appreciation for my Otter Pro Cabin and my Snosuit. Both kept her toasty warm all day long.

We had a great time and hope to do it again soon. Here’s some of the pics she snapped throughout the day.

Yeah that’s me in the jeans. Looks like I need to invest in another swinsuit….

Personally I liked this photo the best.

Tom, we really didn’t need to know about your swmsuit, but you should get another SnoSuit!

I want to add my thanks to Pat and Marshall for all the effort you put into finding the spot and blazing the trail out onto the ice. Thanks to Ed and Lupe for that great potato soup and Jeff, that venison was fantastic. It was nice to meet everybody even though I missed a few. I enjoyed fishing together with Jeff (Mudshark) in my big Clam. No fish for us but it was well worth the trip from Madison.

I tell you what it is Dave, it’s Allys finger prints from handing us our

Like I said Sat. night………..here we are, Petenwell, IDOs ice nuts scrambling all over, burning up StrikeMasters, humping rods and flashers from hole to hole, swapping out baits and staring at screens that show fish coming in and zipping off with the slightest jiggle
Then we have Ally …….ice fishing phenom who settles in and get’s the job done. Humbled by a hottie, not a bad thing

Man oh man…What a GREAT time!

Not only did I meet up with all my old friends again but I FINALLY got to shake the hand of my HERO BrianK.. Even though it was the first time …It felt like I was talking to an old friend

You guy’s should really feel sorry for Jerry Ho though…

He had to sit in that tiny shack of his and listen to me babble on for hours on end

Thanks for setting this up Pat….and it was a pleasure meeting you too

As far as leaving early…..with the hangover I had from the Packer game…I was not very sociable

Can’t wait for the next one
