Looking to pick up new portable.

Yukon center ht 70″ , Voyager 75″. (70″ head will hit, 75 does not)
    Yukon wt 83, Voyager 95

I mainly fish with another guy but I will fish more alone when I pick up this new portable. I sold my Otter Large with Resort because of the weight. If I go with the Yukon TC or Voager TCX were talking about 110lbs. Do you think the TC or TCX are worth the extra $$?

I am 50 years old and want to be able to load/unload from my truck with out busting a nut.

So for those of you that have these what do you think?

    Thanks for your imput!

I have had a Yukon for 4 years now. I’m 5’7″ and it fits fine for me. However, if I was taller it would probably be fine considering that 95% of the time you’ll be sitting down. I have sat 3 people (two of them over 6′ and 200lbs and we were able to fish okay, not

I had a yukon for 2 years and upgraded to a voyager last year. The height wasn’t the issue with me it was the width. In my yukon it seemed like we were always bumping elbows. When you have 4 holes 2 flashers a heater and a minnow bucket your floor space was gone.

If it was me I’d spend the difference and get the voyager first.

By myself the Yukon is perfect. With two people it gets tighter. Three maybe just for tip up fishing. Funny about the weight I wonder what mine actually weighs full of gear… Speaking of busting a nut.

I am going to purchase the Voyager TCX in a couple weeks. I went with the insulated roof to try to cut down roof condensation

I have a yukon and I mostly fish out of it by myself. The size is great for just me. Not bad with another guy but a little tight. Your still gonna bust a nut loading it if you leave gear in it. Probably alright empty. Also I would say the travel cover is almost have.

My Voyager just fits into the back of the Tacoma. I lift up the front and rest it on the tailgate then lift the back and slide it in. It’s a good size when there is more than one person coming along. The Kenai is my one man. Saw Dave Genz’s Nanook thermal setup at a seminar and it’s pretty nice for a one man operation as it allows room (he took one seat out) for you and more gear (heater, rods, lunch etc…).
I don’t see much difference between the Yukon and Voyager for what you want to do with it. If your fishing is mostly stationary then comfort would be key. But if you move around then portability is paramount.
Are you dragging your sled or do you have a 4 wheeler/snowmobile?

Thanks for all the input. I will drag it by hand, pull it by ATV and carry it in the back of the truck. All depends on the ice thickness.
