I run an original Showdown, now I see that Marcum bought it out (what else is new) and is marketing it.
Is there any differences that make a Marcum worth the 200.00 more than what I paid for mine?
Separation same or better? etc etc
Info would be great, cause I love my unit!!

The older units prior to MarCum’s purchase of the brand lack a lot of the current technologies that owners of the LX series flashers have come to rely on. The new 5.6 units have an greatly improved IR system and an upgraded zoom similar to MarCum’s patented infinitely adjustable zoom. They’ve also added several proprietary technologies that have reduced display delay so the information is closer to “real time.” And there’s a 8/20 dual beam transducer option that makes these units much more feature rich than units of the past.

excellent. i think ill be getting that upgrade for my unit! I will never trade in my Showdown… just wish that dealers would know about their product. Was in a fishing shop here in Edmonton and I had to teach him about the product and comparison to brands (hes the manager) and he had no clue I could still get the upgrade. boy oh boy I wanted to 
lol!
Bret Clark was in the bait shop at Everts with his Showdown Ice Troller.
Seeing one in person confirmed my prediction they are going to be the #1 must have this year! I hope the boys at MarCum made enough of them!
The troller will be a great unit for me to have on hand. I can’t wait to receive the performance pack! With the performance pack a guy can have the best of both worlds. A fast way to look for depth, structure and fish plus the benefit of a complete unit when setting up camp
