Every year there is always something new that you want to try during the season, whether it is a new product or a new fishing technique, lake, whatever.

What do you want to try this year??

I know this year I want to ice fish for more trout, both on inland stocked lakes, and on lake superior more. I got some automatic fisherman just for it.

I also would like to do more whitefish fishing too, I love those fish!!

I was looking at a Fly reel with 2 lb line for my early ice Crappies. And just to try and get out more, trips up north or just around home. Maybe update my heater cooker that is 12 years old and looking a little used.

Its nothing new but i hope we can get some good solid ice out to 250 feet up here on the north shore of lake superior. Those lakers are calling my name! Im excited to get on the looper and coho bite also that takes place in much colser to shore!

Anyone ever been on lake superior ice? It is awesome, but scary lol. You can see down 50-60 some feet and look at boulders the size of your truck, and bigger up here by Duluth. The ice is always gin clear, which makes ice fishing it so much fun! Lets hope we have a year like 2005 where people (not me) were driving 4 wheelers out there !

I’m going to put a hurt on the Mille Lacs Jumbo Perch this year, get my fiance hooked on fishing, and get out on the metro lakes more after work. If someone lets me try one of those fly reel combos, I would be happy too.

I have wanted to try thore fake weeds. The lake I often fish has limited strucutre and limited weeds. Peple who know the lake well cam right on top of any cribs. It would be neat to see if those weeds would work and could help concentrate fish around us.

I want to try and get my twin 5 year old boys out after some pannies and maybe some tipups. It is hard to do because my gear takes up all the space in my jeep that they normally ride in. So I might tap my good buddy John to assist.

My wife and I just had a baby boy in July so I am shooting for just getting on the ice more than once a month. For me it is gonig to be trying new lakes. I found 5 or 6 that I would like to give a go at and hopefully come home with a big mess of good eatin’!

DO IT! LaDredge Outdoors, a friend of IDO and Sponsor of mine makes an amazing product and it works! Out west here, we have alot of shallow lakes that dont hold structure, alot of small reservoirs that were made for irrigation purposes in the prairies. We had a camera and two flashers, fished with no structure and had a few schools of perch come through, dropped the REEL WEEDS down, gave it 20 minutes and fish were holding true. Also seen a 10lb northern hoovering in a patch of reel weeds from a distance with the camera, seeing him chase a big ol spoon was pretty fun to!! TRY THEM

I’d like to try Chequamegon Bay. Or get up to leech lake. Never fished in Minnesota.

Staying out later in the day. I have fished after dark only a few times and I hear the walleyes bite better in the dark.
