To be emotionally confused about or upset with Santa How about when all you think of, breath and eat is ice fishing and you get a new Otter Pro Ice Cottage in
    July

I have had, seen or been in a number of different brand flip over tents but can honestly say this shack is constructed like no other. The heavy duty sled, frame and material place this portable ice fishing dwelling in a league of its own, I’m sure those who own one would have to agree.

The square aluminum tubular frame slides into place with the use of fingers. There is no struggling with galvanized round tubing. With windows placed on all four sides the hassle of placing tip ups in front or behind the shelter have been eliminated now that I have a 360 degree view. And talk about a comfortable seat, I love the feel of the adjustable padded seat. No more butt cheeks or backs of the legs falling asleep while spending hours of my day on the hard water.

With the long skirting on the outside and an interior skirt on the inside of the sled, buttoning up tight should be no problem. No more draft coming in on them windy days from the openings along the sled.

And then there are all the goodies that can be added to the Otters. The Sportsman Caddy has plenty of room for keeping all those necessities at hand and in one spot eliminating digging around in a bucket or on the floor of the sled looking for stuff. From years spent on the ice I have learned organization is a key to packing everything tight in a sled for the long haul.

If you are in the market for a new portable this year you owe it to yourself to do the research and really check out the line of portables Otter has to offer. Make sure to compare with the others and you will without a doubt see the difference in quality. If you have your doubts and you are around the Sparta area stop on in and check mine out, I will help you make up your mind
There is plenty of time until ice season to save up them beans for your new shack. Make sure you get your moneys worth ice heads

The wife thinks I’m nuts, well a lot of people think that. I have been playing around in the yard with all my gear just seeing how things are going to fit together. She is concerned about what the neighbors are saying
Can’t wait to be sportin’ pictures of the real deal on the ice come the 2010-2011 season, bring it on Old Man Winter

Don’t worry Santa, it might have been kind of a sting to give me this for an early present but you still ROCK

Hey Bret…are you able to store the auger in there for pulling it around? I bought the same set-up but have yet to try to put my 10″ jiffy in it yet.

The only way to get the auger in the one man is to remove the bit from the head which would be a pain when running and gunning. I put the cover on the shack and the frame supports my auger without a problem. I think for walking I will just throw a bungee cord over it. Otherwise my fishing partner has the auger carrier on his wheeler.

That had to be hotter than 2 mink mating in a wool sock

The MarCum is just sitting on top of the Sportsman Caddy. The Caddy is deep and will hold a lot of good stuff The Custom Jigs & Spins bag will slip into it with ease along with a ton of other stuff. Matter in fact I’m looking for a smaller minnow bucket that will set inside of it. I will no longer have crap scattered on the floor

We can get through these troubling times together. Here is to the ice heads support group

Very nice rig. my twin boys are going to need shacks soon and one might get a slightly used one man clam. I did swap out the chair on mine and put in a nice fat boy padded one that makes my day easier. I do hate a cold breeze in on my ankle sometimes in my current one.

    Congratulations Bret, I love it…
Now all we need is for the temperature to drop 100 degrees.

Not to mention that their customer service is second to none. The sled is really overkill but you don’t ever have to worry about your gear or anything for that matter falling through a hole in the bottom of it.

Then when you stand up there is enough height that you don’t have to slump over. If anyone is shopping for a new portable you owe it to yourself to look at Otter Outdoors products, I promise you won’t be sorry.

My wife bought me a Frabill for Christmas…… Guess which one I really wanted? Enjoy it for me too Brett. I really wanted the square tubing., Cuz I do struggle with the round tubing sometimes. We were re-arranging the garage today and I got to “air” mine out in the yard., on a 90 degree day, I sure was thinkin ice.
