The guy you want is the guy who tied these.

Learn, its a great hobby many books on how to in the libary or many adult extension classes offer fly tying which you can transfer to jig making. Ive been tying since I was 12 , 49 now and still tye anthing from Fly , jigs and some Killer Bucktails. Save yourself some money and be satisfied when you catch a trophy fish on your own lure.

It’s pretty easy – for a $50-$100 investment you could tie an awful lot of jigs. Cabela’s and Gander should have fly tying kits that would work just fine. That said, all you really need is a halfway decent vise, a ceramic head bobbin, a decent scissors (larger serrated blade fly tying models work best), some kevlar thread, and some head cement. After that it’s just deer tails and jig heads in whatever colors and sizes you’re interested in.

The reason I asked is cuz hair is going to hold water, right now water on your jig is not too big of a deal but when the temperature is colder water on the jig turns to ice pretty quick unless you are in a shelter. Have you look at Custom Jigs and Spins Flu Flu jigs? They are not made with hair, rather they have feathers tied on.

Myself I have only used plastic or bait on my ice jigs when ice fishing, but I would not mind tying some for you.
