Hey guys I coming down to La Crosse to see the girlfriend this weekend and was looking for some pointers on where we could pick up some pan fish. We normally fish up north when she comes up to see me so this area is new to me. I would guess driving on is about done so we will be walking. Any help is appreciated, just a landing to use and a general area if fine unless you want to give more info.

She loves to fish and we have 2 portable shacks so we can get out of the wind which is supposed to be picking up. We will be hitting the ice Friday morning with jig poles and tip downs.

The guys down there are going to able to say better than I, but with the snowmelt and rain, if the river goes up I would be careful on the ice… I got an invite to ice fish north of LaX and that’s my thinking right now.

Follow LadeC behind the hospital. Rumor has it he’s on a hot bite back there. He’ll be there for sure, only spot he fishes.

In my opinion, that is a community spot just like most others in our area. Why not help friendly people who share a love for the same sport and web-site? I am not a fan of someone fishing 2 feet from me, but they are community holes and stuff happens. If a person likes being alone, chances are he should take up a different hobby. jmo.

Thanks for the heads up on the spot by Bob’s bait. I am going to try it over lunch with my little guy tomorrow!!

Nutz…swing into Shaffer’s bait shop on lake onalaska and Tony will point you in the right direction. Walking or 4 wheeler are your 2 options as of now. There should be a good bite out there…just a matter of finding it…lol

Thanks guys, I do not know the area at all, my GF does so I think she can tell me where the bait shop is. Again thanks for the help! Weather sounds nasty but we will walk out and give it a shot. If there is fish to be caught we will find them, she loves to fish and is better than a lot of guys I know and a lot better company if ya know what I mean!

What roads are the Bait shops on, not familiar with the area.
