Real Weeds

Has anyone used “Real Weeds” with much success? I was just thinking about a recent ice fishing experience where I was fishing a large, deep, bowl area and catching scattered fish as the moved in and out of the area. I was wondering if staging some of these Real weeds around me would work to hold them in my area. Isn’t this the idea behind them? Give the fish some cover to relate to and keep them close rather than drifting or moving in and out of the area.
Curious to hear stories from some of you guys that might have used them.

I have used them a couple years with good success. In fact last weekend, perching, on a big sand and rock flat, I was seeing a few perch on camera, so decided to drop 1 Reel Weed down, almost immediately, I had no less than 7 or 8 perch, on screen from then on. Granted, they were not the JUMBOS I was after, but it definitely brought them in and made my set-up unique to everyone around me.

It’s an old post, but I never get tired of seeing myself talk.

I use them in the situation where theres no structure around and they just won’t sit still! Man thats frustrating chasing fish around a 50 yd radius. Its usually because the pike are chasing them around. They do feel safer when there are a few reel weeds around.
