Personally, I don’t think it matters what color of arrow you use Bowshooter.

They work as intended, but it’s really just another piece of junk to drag along.
You’ll end up going back to whatever you have ‘confidence’ in.

I don’t know about “ice fishing” but for bass fishing on the river, it can be exceptional..

I make or made my own spinnerbaits, and had my own lure company..

a bunch of my skirt colors were directly related to the color selector in “sections”.. meaning ..for clear water a color combo was black / white/ lime.. or black/ White/Chartruese..

another combo that is really good on the river is blue/ Purple/ Chartruese.. that’s when the river has that “good green “color to it..

but I have had days and times where SPECIFIC COLOR COMBOS.. White and orange.. is an early morning combo under muddy water.. proved to be great..

or Chartruese and Grey or silver.. another combo..

so to say that they are junk.. or don’t work. or what ever..

I respectfully disagree.. and 1000’s of spinnerbaits later so do my customers..

there was a club in Eau Claire. that one guy , who wasn’t a “great fisherman” at the time.. tore them up on one of my colors..

to the point where I sold every, and I mean EVERY spinnerbait that I brought of that color to the Wisconsin Bass federation conference one year..

if you break it down by sections..this unit is a great tool…

but its just that a TOOL.. and not a magic fix..

Great post Mr. Rat! I’m guessing many havn’t a clue as to what these tools were. I’ll try and find a photo.

I scoffed at then because the were advertised, well all over the place with the hopes of being the next sonar.

I had one too, I don’t know if it was junk…but the only color it selected was pink.

I stink at posting photos here..
    here is a link.:
    http://i.ebayimg.com/08/!BTFZs4g!mk~$(KGrHgoH-DgEjlLl1CLoBKGm-K8Zb!~~_35.JPG

and if you enlarge the photo.. you can see whole sections.. so you take the predominate flourescent color and combine them with two of the non flourescent colors..

Blue and purple are always together.. so blue/purple/lime
is a combo.. and its a combo that shows up more THen any other combo on the selector..

blue/purple/ Chartruese is next.. and for me its been a real killer color..

so instead of stating just one color.. I adapted a section.. that allows for the meter to being off target by a good bit..

red /white/black.. now that’s a great clear water spinnerbait color..
we were on a very clear ( 8 foot ) lake in the middle of the state.. BLUE BIRD SKIES.. tough conditions.. and I landed a major bass for the type of lake on this color..

and again ..its a tool. and not a magic trick.. or formula..

I could use some help in posting this photo.. thanks..
