#1 you can see you can see the runners that the boom is mounted to have been pulled back,#2 she’s a comming boys,#3 notice how far away from the hole they are now,#4 high but far from dry,#5 got her,#6 this is the side it was laying on,i talked to the owner of the truck and he said it went down in 30-35 seconds, earlier the company removing the truck had plowed a road around the pressure ridge at Frontenac and they pulled the truck off with a wheeler, they didn’t want to waste anytime at this point as they were worried about the truck freezing up.It took them about an hour and a half to get it out once they started to pull it out.Sorry it took so many posts but i didn’t know how many pics i could put on one, i have more pics but wanted to give you the general idea what goes on in deep water as it was new to me also. If you go out please stay away from the mn shoreline, plenty of ice elswhere

Now that doesn’t look like fun.

I’m glad the owner is around to get ribbed about it.

Does anybody know how much the cost is to pull out a vehicle in this situation?

I’d also like to know if it is repairable and how much that would be?

The extraction of the vehicle was over 10 grand. And the vehicle itself is a total loss, not to mention all of the fishing equipment he lost.

I think they are a total loss due to the electronics getting wet and shorting out (now and in the future) more so than machanical failure? I would think you could part a rig like that out if you had the know how and patience. I had a 26′ RV get nailed by a few trees during a storm a few years back, it was totaled but in hindsight it may have made a great wheel house with some work. On the other side, the check was in my hand and no more payments, I went with this route. Glad no one got hurt above.

Would insurance cover the loss, and if it does would it be a collision or comprehensive claim?
