Does anyone else on here have the Vexilar FL12 UltraPac? My friend won one andalready has the 18 and offer to sell it to me new in the box for 325. Seems like a good deal and still has the unfilled out warranty card too. What say the IDO crew? It would be my first flasher.

Thats not to bad of a price. Otherwise you could get a used FL-18 with the zoom feature for around the same price or possibly less.
    Just my $.02 worth

Just a little comparison – I got my FL18 pro pack for $300 on craigslist – found a guy that had bought one and didn’t really understand how to use it and never used it.

Maybe I just lucked out, but when I was searching I had found a couple others hovering around that price.

cool I’ll have to check around on craigs a bit then. The 18 did seem nicer reading up on them a bit here. I’ll haveto learn to use it too. But the father in law can teach me too.

If he is a friend and he won it I would really try to get him to lower his price. If I won a flasher I would probably just give it to a friend…

I have an FL12 ultrapac and I love it, and I think $325 is a pretty decent price (especially brand new with the warrenty). I fish next to my buddies FL20 all the time, and don’t get me wrong its a nice unit, but to be honest he really doesn’t use the zoom feature very often. The 12 also has the flat screen so you don’t always have to have the unit pointing directly at you…or if your fishing deep water two people can share the FL 12 because of the flat screen. I think it really depends on what you fish for, if your going to fish alot of walleye or perch and to a lesser extent bottom hugging gills, the zoom to the bottom is really nice. especially in deep water where you lose resilution if you dont have the zoom. I fish alot of crappies and most of the time they are suspended in the water column so the zoom does me no good anyway. Most of the time that im fishing gills it is in 20 ft or less so i have pretty good reselution anyway. Walleye fishing is abou the only time i really wish i had the zoom feature…my $0.02
