A friend wants to build an “ice picker” motor. I’ve seen them on the lake a couple of times, and they always look “home made.” Recently I have heard there is a manufacturer for them. Anybody have any info on them?

Are you talking about a “Scratcher” ?? Don’t know where to get one, but like this one, it looks home made!

    Herb?

I hear they are a blast to ski behind if you don’t like your ankles

Also…you don’t want to let go of the handle, right Blue

Wow, and that one has a runner attachedment to the boat?

I bet that would be a wild ride, and thats coming from a skier

Over the years I have seen about 4 or 5 of these “scratcher” motors (or as our local newspaper outdoors editor likes to call “saw blade propellers” ) all of them homemade…

All owned by trappers…every one had a skid system…

I guess the aluminum bottom wears out rather quickly …..

If I had a cheap flat and a little time I would try it myself
