We set tip -ups over in the backwaters by Necedah today.. 30 some flags 20 some northern… had fish again today grab the baits as we were lowering them down for the original set up and when resetting after checking shiners… I think Daryl my guide guest thought I was crazy when I told him we would catch fish setting and resetting tip-ups where we were fishing, after the fourth or fifth time I think he might have been convinced.. Everything was caught less than 2 feet off the bottom in 6-8 feet of water… ice was in the mid 20 inches… most of the day was overcast… medium shiners seemed to work best..water clarity stained.

Welcome to IDO. Great bunch of folks here. Nobody here ever lies about the fish they catch.

    At least not often.

I just finished a guided ice fishing trip with Mr. Ecklor that I purchased on E-bay. Boy did he put us on the fish. I stopped counting at about 25 northern on the ice and a handful more that were lost. Not only did we catch a ton of fish, but now I have a good spot that I can return to in the future. From a fishing perspective, this was some of the best money I’ve ever spent.

Mr. Ecklor is an experieced competitive angler and he was very willing to share that experience. He seemed happy answering all of my questions. I feel that I got way more than I paid for. I even got to see Mr. Ecklor hand jig 65 lb test tip up line with a shiner on a treble hook and catch multiple fish.
