I have been fortunate enough to get offered a free trip up to Lake Ossawinamakee – I will be bringing the portable up and we will also be bring 5 sleds and 1 four wheeler up, so we have the option to be as mobile as we want.

I however have never fished any of these lakes – kimball, strawberry, bass, and star, along with ossawinamakee.

Kimball, from what the dnr says, has good amount of brown trout, which seems like it would be a blast, however I have never fished for browns before.

Just wondering if anyone has fished this chain and had any suggestions or tips. The cabin is on Ossawinamakee, but once again we can be mobile.

I’ve fished Lake Ossawinamakee during the open water season. It had a ton of 18-24″ Pike in it. So many I got bored fishing them.

The Bluegill population at the time was outstanding and the Bass population was pretty strong too.

If the Bluegill population has sustained, you should have no problem having a good time.

I spend a week up there every summer, its super, super clear water and has milfiol in it. Has a ton of <2.5lb bass in it, I mean a ton, we have 100 fish mornings with 3 guys in the boat and a bunch of little pike. Bluegills I’ve caught haven’t been very big but that is summer fishing and its tougher to get the big ones.

Also boated 4 or 5 3-4 lb smallies on accident in there.

I lived near ossawinamakee for a couple years while going to school up there. we fished out from the access on cty rd 39 if i remember correctly. we fished off of the creek that runs into the lake. had a awesome night there one time catching a 2,4, and 6 pound walleye with a couple of nice crappies thrown in. other nights were alot slower, so it was a hit or miss spot, but that sure was a great time.
