Me and a buddy arrived at the lake about 11 oclock yesterday and set up in a stretch of water from 20 to 22 feet drilling holes about every 20 ft for 2 to 3 hundred yards. we began catching dinks right of the bat but at about 1:00 we put a nice 17 on the ice and proceeded to catch 11 nice sauger until about 4:30. they were definately cruisen because we caught fish in just about every hole we drilled. after that we fished for two hours and could only catch little dinks again. frustrating only one fish to go and cant get it owell though great time and a awesome day to be on the ice! we were using jigging raps tipped with a minnow head. the bigger fish we caught were very agressive to when we marked them they were alreading hitting it and if you missed, even if you tapped em good they came back for it right away pretty exciting fishing.

I was there this morning came on at maiden rock. Fished the channel (10-12 inch of ice) and caught fish, fished out of the channel (16-20 inches) in 20 ft. of water and caught fish too. Bite was not great lots of little guys and few in the 12-15 inch range. If your fishing the channel I would highly recommend parking a ways a way and walking to where you would like to set up.

Can a guy get to the lake through the Hoksala park just north of Lake city?
