truck in lake Onalaska

heard on the news that a truck went through on lake onalaska just wonder if people knew more as they didn’t have much info. Planned on heading out there this week so info would be great!

Waiting for more info as well. Thinking they more got stuck than fell through.

I was on the lake yesterday and there was a good 16-18 inches of ice everywhere I was at!! I was shocked to hear this and think they must have been up by the spillway. My gut feeling at least… They also went in after 9 pm… …not many people fishing on the lake at that time. Good thing…all came out with non-life threatening injuries.

On the news they said they were using the runway at the airport to access the people and to be able to see them. So I am assuming they are somewhere near the airport lights? Probably on the airport side of the lake? I hate it when this stuff happens. I have to argue that the ice is ok everytime I try to go fishing after someone goes through.

They were on the ice just off Nelson Park at the northern tip of French Island.

From the map they had on the news this AM it was just off the tip just north of the landing..

I’m thinking that there are some springs along the shoreline in that area……

Looks about right. On sunday/monday and tues in that area was alot of water on top of the ice from the past thaw. yesterday a.m. had to help a guy out in that area who was stuck in water up to his running boards..Scary!! Glad all is safe.. be safe!!!

ice conditions are good now. been goin out for a week now after school, theres at least a good 16-20in of ice by the landing lights. oh, and if ur trying to catch some nice perch, thats where they are biting!
