Another Lake Pepin Ice Warning

    Just got a phone call from an IDOer that the front end of a truck went through the ice again.Sounds like everyone is ok.

    Current,ice,& driving trucks is not a safe combination.Please,if unsure of where you are going,ask or at least check the ice first.The person calling said he was on 18 plus inches of ice and merely a few yards away it was less than 4.

    My uncle was able to pull him out. Only one tire wentr thru. The ice in the channel has rapidly gone to crap. wouldnt recommend driving out there. Out of the channel, ice on the Wisconsin side 18″ was the norm today.

    Sounds like he got lucky. I think I’ll fish it with the boat too!
