Has anyone fished Bald Eagle Lake recently? I was doing some reading on the DNR website and it looked like this would be a good walleye lake. I don’t want to make the trip unless I think I have a chance of catching fish. Thanks for the info in advance!

I have read some pros and cons about bald eagle recently. Some people say they have been catching their limit within an hour and some people say they have been getting just small crappies. However, I love the lake layout and wouldn’t mind trying it out myself.

size of the fish leaves a lot to be desired there though.

The structure and layout of this lake is wonderful, but I believe it’s one of the more overfished lakes in the metro. I’m sure there are some good sized fish in the lake, but they will be few and far between. If you do go I’d get away from the crowds out by Cigar Island and head to the north side of the lake. It doesn’t get the pressure but still has some good structure.
