MN Ice fishing trip ideas needed

Looking for advice on a ice fishing trip. Would be happy targeting perch and/or walleyes. Would prefer the Mille Lacs area but would be open to other suggestion too. Probably a group of 3-6 people. Fish Sunday afternoon till Wed am. The group will be experienced “river” fisherman and not so much “lake” fisherman. We would be willing to stay on the ice overnight if advised, could bring our own poles/depth finders if advised etc. Any ideas on who to call or what would work best for us on this type of trip would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

Chris Granrud with RainyDaze in International Falls. I know it’s a little out of the Mille Lacs area but it’s well worth it. He has permanents and portables.

Lots of good choices for your trip. Johnny P runs a tight ship on Red lake. Joe Secgura over in the Alexandria area can surely put you on good fish. Lastly of course we’d love to entertain your crew on Rainy Lake. Whichever route you choose to take have a great time, and I’m confident we’d all show your boys a great time!! To be honest I’ve been too busy in this neck of the woods to keep up with how the Mille Lacs bite is shaping up this winter, but I’m sure there are guys on here that could fill you in.

We’re getting a lot of big fish again this year. The big pike are mixed in with the bigger walleyes chasing ciscoes. Makes for a fun multi-species trip. We don’t often kick out big numbers of perch, but when you catch them they are nice fish.

Thanks for some ideas. Most of us live in SW Wisconsin so it’s a 8 hr trip to international falls and about 6 to Mille Lacs. Probably should have put that info in my original post We are thinking 6 hrs is about as far as we want to go to only be able to fish a couple days. Info is Much appreciated!!
