    Hi all,
I, Trekr200, my son and his buddy are heading to the lake this weekend. My son got the big idea to cook a meal around brunch time. I’m dragging along the big saute pan and the turkey burner/stand.
Anyone have an idea for an easy 1 pan meal that will feed 4-5 guys? I was thinking of potatoes, bacon (or sausage) and onion bathed in scrambled eggs, with hot sauce of course.
Any other ideas or past meals that worked well??

    Thanks,
    Don

My personal favorite on the ice is Ham and cheese chowder

Just whip it up the night before and heat it up on the lake.

I use my sunflower heater/cooker and a heavy duty pie pan- I have whipped just about anything up in that, grilled cheese/turkey sandwhiches, soup, venison, burgers, but I think my favorite is brats-

Take a little beer, and begin cooking them in the beer, sliced up red onion helps as well.
Get them almost fully cooked, pour out the beer, and add a little butter to the pie pan, then brown those baby’s up. Take some more butter and put it on the buns, and brown them over the cooker. Add mustard, ketchup, onions from beer mixture, and it is unreal!!

Hits the spot everytime!! Nothing better than a warm meal to help you hit the ice hard the second part of the day!!

Sounds great. Add a couple peppers and use a tortilla for a plate and you got a fine ice fishing brunch

we have cooked eggs on the ice and if you wanted you could throw some potatoes, onions, peppers and cheese on it is always good. we’ve also fried upsome tenderloin strips from our venison and that tastes awesome on the ice.

I’ve seen it where guys use the foodsaver bags with an omelette type mixture in them then they just boil it and you have your omelette in-a-bag.

We tried the omlette in a bag last year. Unfortunately, we couldn’t get the water to boil and ended up cooking the mixture back at the cabin.

If you have one of those small portable grills, steaks, hot dogs, beer, brauts, just about anything will work. I’ve done this many times in the past and the other folks on the lake just drool. I think we could sell everything we fixed. Good luck up there. Wish I could be there.

Use venison or beef stew meat. Marinate the night before. Make sure to remove all fat. Cut meat in 1″ pieces, Stew meat will be already cut from store. Add butter to skillet and cook. When done, fill a hamburger bun and enjoy.Simple, warm,
    and tasty.
