Hello everyone, I filled up my 1 gallon gas can and added the oil….got out today started drillin and noticed oil coming out the muffler…I have never noticed this before…I just read on strikemaster this is common but it seemed to be quite a bit….I did use 92 gas thinking I was just using the good gas….is this the problem??? Thanks

Sounds like you might be running a little rich for one reason or another. I’ve had it happen on an older auger from time to time when I goofed the oil mixture (not saying you did that) and it never resulted in any long-term problems. If it continued over multiple trips and several different batches of fuel I might consider taking the auger in for a tune up but I honestly don’t think this represents a serious mechanical problem for you.

Its common, normal and healthy Its just uncombusted oil from the mixture. The path from the exhaust valve to the actual exit on the tecumseh engines is quite short, so you’ll see that unburned oil before it has a chance to burn up in the exhaust port.

I have not witnessed that on the new solos

For the next batch, put the oil in then add the gas. It’ll mix better that way. If it was done the way you stated, sounds like most of the oil stayed on top giving you a rich mix when dumped in the tank.
