Took the kids and a dozen shiners out this morning for a little tipup fishig. We ended up with 9 largemouths, with 4 over 17″, and two small snotrockets. The kids caught most of the fish , at 6 & 9 they were running tipups like old pros, and of course I forgot the camera. Got a few pics on my cell phone, if i can figure out how to download them I will post later.

The presentation was pretty simple, medium shiners about a foot under the ice in about 3-4 fow with weeds. Started fishing about 8:30am we were out of minnows by 12:00. All fish were released unharmed to be caught another day.

Snotrocket? I am assuming that is a small northern, that is the first time i have heard that name. Made me laugh really hard though.
Sounds like the Bass were very active. It is alot of fun to watch kids catch anything.
