Lindy techni-glow tails on a little green/white Marmooska jig have been triggering largemouth on the north end of deSoto Bay north of the Roadhouse restaurant, with best access at the Blackhawk Rec area.
Bite is happening all day long in spite of little snow cover on ice. fish are hanging in less than three feet of water and will respond to either standing back from the hole with a five foot rod and sensitive spring bobber or Thill mini-stealth float–or by sight fishing from a totally dark portable fish house making every attempt to keep from peering directly into the hole with that shiny face! (Thought about putting on cammo face paint but figured warden Bob would have the net ready for me back at the truck.)Best color seems to be that pinkish tail, with the paddle tail design out fishing the split tail by a wide margin. Fish are all the way from maybe 10 inches up to 19–and there are bigger ones down there!
Was talking to Ted Takasaki at the Trap Attack tourney at Antioch on fox Chain yesterday and told him we need a techni-glow taile which looks like a BLOODWORM. He’s all over it…and soon as he can get the exact color to the plastics guy we’re in business (probably next year). also told him we need a black or dark purple tail. He agreed but wondered how Lindy could call it “Techni-Glow” Who cares whatcha call it! This would be a killer.
