I did that on Leech Lake way the heck out off Stoney Point, what a long day. Actually got a locksmith to meet me at the access and drive me back out and do his job. 35bucks what a guy ,then all I had was plastic and he wasn’t set up for it. He said just mail it to me. Guys like that are few and far between.
Believe it or not we did the “Lock you keys in the truck” twice!! Both times up on Upper Red Lake. We ended up in the Westwind for a very fun night waiting for a new key from the Chevy dealer in Bemidji that was brought up by a freind.
This photo was from Upper Red Lake a couple of years ago. I was laying down for a break and sat up just enough to snap this pic. It was about -20 when we started that day and never got above 5. We did not catch much that day, with a highlight of a big pike that was one guys personal best. We still had a great day!
Yep, done that. Last time was at the puplic boat ramp in Isle. I had finished preping the boat. I went to get into the truck and found a locked door, all of the doors were locked.
It cost me about $50 for a smith to come over from Garrison.
After telling my friend of the delima he asked me; “Don’t you have road side assistance?”
Yep.. happened to me to, I unscrewed my antenna and was able to pull top of door open enough to insert and hit the down window button, now i have a spare door key hid on underside.
I have a van that locks itself when ever it is in the mood. It got in the mood one time at the boat ramp with the boat in the water and the van running. I had to walk three miles home to get the spare key with the van sitting in the water running. Now, I leave the door open.
Most memorable trip to date. First time in Sioux Narrows Ontario at Crawfords Camp resort. I’ve been waiting for some extra cash to have Fiber Tech do a mount, and to my surprise, Kellie is gifting me the mount for my christmas present!
Not last year but one of my favorites. My son out-fishing me again and I love it! Looks like he had to crap too!
By the way the extra key in the wallet really comes in handy for those moments. Just don’t try to cut the plastic of of a Buick key to make it smaller, there’s a $60 circuit inside
