Marcum DCS question.

Went to check on my charge for my Marcum 3tc and the whole display screen is lit up. It doesn’t show any charge percentage. Called Marcum and they said to send the DCS part in. Is there anyway to be able to fish and charge my battery? How would I send in that piece and fish because it the cable plugged into the unit leads to the DCS and then to the charging port? Hope I explained my self thoroughly. I had it on the charger twice during the off season. I bought this brand new last Feb.

Any 12 volt charger will do as long as it does a 2 AMP trickle. Send in the head unit and use a car charger, etc., while you wait for the part to be returned.

Just disconnect the LX-3 power leads from the DCS which has

    the piggybacked spade connectors.

Reconnect the LX-3 power leads to the battery and you’re

good to go. (once your battery is charged)

Be careful when pulling the DCS off the battery as the

double stick tape is pretty strong. I once pulled the top

off a battery trying to remove a DCS.

A putty knife will work better than lifting and twisting.

Go buy a spare battery with charger for 20 bucks. Then

charge up both batteries and you’re good to go.

Good catch on the double spades and how that might confuse the issue. I completely overlooked that as part of the question.

Double thumbs up to Dan on this one.

Thanks for the help guys. I do have a Cabelas marine kit 12 volt 8Ah battery with alligator clip charger. It is the same size battery, will that work?
