The bite started out good today using small jigs and waxies. We were getting a good mix of gills, perch, and a few small bass. When it started to slow down I tied on a shrimpo. Now I’ve never had much faith in just using artificial lures. I’ve seen nice ‘eyes come to the boat with just a hair jig or plastics, but I’ve just had better luck adding a little meat. But with the help of the new flasher and confident in the bite we just had I thought I would give it a shot. It wasnt down the hole a minute and the flasher was showing the fish liked it. Here is my first artificial catch through the ice. Its not the biggest one of the day for the shrimpo but it showed there is more options than just waxies.
