So who do you guys use for insurance on your wheel house. I have been checking around and the cheepest ive have found is $385 for the year. Just seems high to me. Looking to see what others are using. Thanks

Most insurance companies can place your wheel-house under the same policy as your auto insurance by placing it as trailer coverage.

Contact your current insurance agent about this process, and if they cannot offer this coverage, give me a call and I will be happy to take care of it for you.

I don’t own one of these, but I’ve seen posts where people claim they have $15-20,000+ invested in them.

As compared to my travel trailer which never goes on the ice, $385 might not be that bad. Insurance is always risk assesment, what is your risk?

A GOOD policy is a must on wheel houses. I see shacks rolling onto the ice with wath bare essential coming in well over the $5,000 mark and some very nice ones ringing in a solid $40,000.

Just think if you back it into a tree or some other random act of craziness happens, I bet you will top $385 damages in a very short order.

Another great thing about good insurance is many auto policies offer some type of roadside assistance…and how many stories have we all heard about wheel bearings going out, lift mechanisms failing or even flat tires in the middle of nowhere at 3 am when its ten below?

In my opinion GOOD insurance is money well spent, or saved if the policy is needed.

I pulled out a RV insurance policy on mine through American Family. It is covered just like a travel trailer. Like Johnny said, if something stupid happens, it will take no time at all to rack up over $400 in damage. I don’t remember exactly what I am paying for my policy since I have all my insurance rolled into one monthly payment for all the vehicles and toys.

You should see if The Hartford will give you a good deal. I got a great RV insurance quote when I first started looking, bought full coverage and have never looked back since. I’ve compared my rates with those offered by other companies, but nothing has matched up so far.
