i was out on centerville last night. there were about 4 to 8 inch depending on where you are. and than we walked around and also noticed slushy snow, there were no holes near by. the snow was thickest in these areas. than the CO showed up. he did the usual check, and than told us to stay away from the slushy areas. he told us in these areas its only 2 inch of ice. after he left i than wandered to a spote where some guys set up there portable. it was flooded like 5 inch of water. the ice was visible with the hole that were drilled and sure enough it was only 2 inch. than it started cracking as i stood there. i figured the weight of the snow and water is too much for the ice. so i ran off as fast as i could. so if you guys go to centerville be carefull of these slushy spots.

and to make it worse some guys were out with four wheelers and snowmobiles. and there were like two guys to one machine. be carefull you guys. dont want to here of anything bad on centerville.

the ‘slushy spot’ is probably where the spring is. theres a natural spring at the middle of that big basin on the eastern end of the lake, to the left of the landing at the old waterworks.

went out yesterday and there deinately were differences in thicknesses.

One slushy area had a little over 5″ of ice and a non slusky area had 10.5″.

    Thanks for the heads up!
