Pool 6 or 7 ice report??

Has anyone made it out to where the walleyes swim via the ice? Looking for either in Winona area or below the Trempealeau dam for a report. I know it’s really early. I walked out below the Winona spillway over my lunch hour and found 3 to 5 inches of mostly white ice, spud in hand. It was solid, but I am a bit wearry, I am not used to being able to be out before Christmas. I realy don’t want to go after pan fish if walleye are a viable and safe venture for the weekend. Please advise if you have seen anyone fishing where flow exists. Thanks!

I am curious also. I drove past both dams on Sat. but did not see anyone out.

A co-worker reported 2 cars on the MN side of the trempealeau spillway, but from HWY 61 there is no way to tell if they were in the back water or had made it all the way to below the float on the main channel. The walk is long and strenuous to check, more than I am willing to ask the guy to do and more than I have time to do over lunch.
