I am looking for a good propane hose that I can run from the 20lb tank to inside the shack. I bought a green one from GM 2 years ago and it has been a hassle ever since, once it’s cold that thing stays coiled up and is very stiff, not practical or a joy to use. You guys know of any that stay flexible in the coldest of weather?

Good question, I asked this on another forum but the only suggestion was buy the black hose which is also stiff in the cold.

I wonder how a flexible gas connector for appliances would work. You should be able to find one at any appliance store or Home Depot type store.

I got this in a PM from The Chucker:

Sorry I couldn’t reply to the post but I am in Wy snowmobiling and my blackberry will only allow PM’s maybe you could copy and paste for others to read…
The black hose Mr.Heater is selling now is a HUGE joke, is is so stiff. I solved the problem by using the Black fuel line that has nylon in it that u buy from Napa and hardware stores. Also u will need the propane ends that u can push into the hose and then uce a hoseclamp to lock on. Many times u can sacrafice the ends on the junk hose u have. That hose is very flexable at sub 0 temps. Best of luck.
BTW. Wy is awsome, was burried in snow to my chest yesterday.

I went to a propane dealer and they can custom make the hose for you. The hose they have is very high quality thicker rubber hose and they can custom make to the length you want.
I had the mr heater hose and it was nothing like this new one, I believe it is a dollar something a foot from the propane dealer.
    Good luck

JJ did you try Mikes LP in Maplewood? They are on near Frost and English. I bought one of there 6′ hoses for my Mr. Heater/Cooker about 15 years ago. It’s finally time for a replacement. It stayed pretty flexible (until lately) laying on the ice outside the trap. If I recall right, they can make any length you want. They have never let me down in the 25 years I have been going there for heater and RV stuff.

    Ferny.
