Help auger problems

I have Jiffy STX, I know I know, Strike Master fans are laughing now, but seriously I am heading up to Lake of the Woods on Fri and went to start the auger and found out that the auger spins every time that I pull the cord even when I am not in the gas.

Is this an easy fix as my abilities are limited when it comes to fixing things.

Where do I start other than throwing it away!!!

Relax, the same thing happens to my strikemaster the first time it gets fired up. It’s the clutch not entirely disengaging. Mine always seems to stop doing that after a couple of holes. I believe Cal helped me out with this last year.

There are two screws under the gas tank on the Jiffy(YES, I own one too). I believe the screw on the left in this photo is the one that will adjust your issue. If its not the one on the left, give the one on the right a try, its one of the two. I just don’t remember which one

I will just make Cal drill the holes this weekend

It’s yours if you need it

We don’t know yet…Our scout…Matt hasn’t called in with his daily report yet…As far as the auger thing goes, I would follow Bob’s suggestion with those screws. Most likely that clutch is hung up just a bit.
I also have a back up strikemaster you could take up to LOW if you don’t trust your jiffy….

Thanks fellas. I will work on it tomorrow and get back to you. Gotta love this sight, where guys are willing to help each other out if needed. It just goes to show you that the world is not falling apart. Thanks again

I am still waiting for Matt to post some photos from his up north adventure.
