First man on the ice?

    I was driving south bound on 371 yesterday (Sunday), and at around 11:15 a.m. I spotted 2 people about 1/2 mile out on North Long!
    With the forecast projections, it’s time to let ‘er fly

    I am just as anxious and as impatient as anyone to get on the ice BUT just to be safe I am going to give it at least 3-4 more days, no fish is worth putting your life in danger over. Better safe than sorry

    Before you go get yourself wet, I’m either in the woods or on the ice at least 6 days a week and the spots with safe ice are not communnity locations so be safe and wait for the deep freeze coming… hope we gain some more ice before the blanket of snow comes , it can really screw things up, with the melt and thaw melt and thaw. First ice guide customers next Monday and Tuesday Whhhhooohooo is so great to still be 9 years old

    I’m going Bull gill fishing tomorrow up in Grand Rapids with some new friends. I should have THE, first ice report from MN for 2009/2010 IDO

    Matt good meeting you yesterday at the show. Thanks for the info on the Lx-5. I just sold my FL-18 and am now in the market for the Lx-5. Good luck up north.

    Hey Matt, I was up in Grand Rapids yesterday. It looks like the lakes froze over on Thursday and Friday. Good luck!

    I was drilling holes in the ice Saturday in Iowa, not much biting just a few little perch.

    Just checked my north metro crappie lake and 2 1/2 inches. I will be out Thursday riping them up.
