Hey Guys, I’m looking at getting a Marcum VS825c. Has anyone used this particular unit? Do you like the color? I’d like to hear your thoughts. Thanks!

I believe if you look through the forums on IDO you’ll find rave reviews of the 825C. BrianK and James Holst have lots of super positive things to say about this camera/underwater viewing system. BTW, I have one too…

Its a great unit Seeing fish on the big screen is great enntertainment. Although, not seeing fish is quite entertaining as well. The colors of underwater structures are incredible to see for the first time, and even thereafter. I’ve used the 825c plenty and I’ve never heard anyone disappointed. Its a spendy unit, but worth the cash in entertainment value in the long run.

There are plenty of pictures from the 825c floating around the forums, I know Calvin had some great pics from his

Probably the best comments to be made are to view for yourself some of BK’s underwater footage. That will speak for itself.I am not aware of anything even close to that unit.I am not sponsored by Marcum either.

Did you see this video I shot with an 825c last year though the ice?

I’m not sponsored by Marcum either. In fact, I am such a believer in the 825c that I just bought one…retail!

Thanks Guys! Those are some great images and video clips. Jason, I assume you used a camcorder to record ths footage? Cal, how about your pics? How did you record them? There isn’t an SD card port or anything is there?

Nice Vid! I’m currently running the Marcum VS560. Wanted to upgrade to a 825C but got spoiled with the Panning feature with Remote on the 560… Anyone personally know someone from Marcum? If so, ask when are they going put a Panning feature with the 825C…Just my thoughts

I had the 500. The first thing I thought of was no panning motor when I bought my first 825c.

Marcum was trying to keep the retail price down because they felt add somewhere around $200 to an already high price point would put their camera out of the range of the average Joe.

They came out with the Marcum Camera Compass. After using this the last couple years I actually like it better than a mechanical rotating device. With the 500, I dropped countless “plastic thingies” down the hole or buried them in the snow.

A quick turn with the compass and I’m set up. To look around another slow turn. I will admit I needed to plan out where my holes were to make the compass easy to get at.

I guess I wouldn’t let the fact that they don’t have the battery draining motor feature stop me from the low light features of the Marcum line.

It can be done and its been pondered before. However it will be some time before a cost efficient method comes through. You’re not alone though

I would invest a little more $$ and get the SD version of the camera. The onscreen direction arrow is awesome and the temp and volt info is very helpful…

    Seven bills for that camera.
    That is insane.
