I was told that Marcum has gone out of business. An employee at the local sports shop said they were not getting any of the flashers in this year because the company shut down. Is this true?

I was in a Gander a couple months ago and heard the same thing…then the customer corrected the sales person.

Versa now owns Marcum Tech…and is alive and well.

In fact, the Marcum flashers are all made right here in Mpls MN now.

Even better than being made in MN, Versa figured out a way to lower the price on these American units.

Out of business? I believe they are as a company stronger than ever before!

I’m itching for the waters of the Mississippi to clear up just a bit and get my Marcum camera down there for the Wonders of the Pool 4 Depths!

Cameras?? Who needs them when you can look over the side of the boat and see bottom in 14′ of water

Great point BK about the lower price tag for this year, might have to buy an 825 this year sometime.

Not a speck of truth. Here’s the press release regarding the purchase of MarCum Technologies by a local Minnesota-based company called Versa.

Heard the same thing. So I called the company last month, did a ”test call” to cust.serv.Not only still in business, but alive and well in Mn. U.S.A..Great to see superior product, excellent price MADE IN THE USA.Not a choice we as sportsmen and women have anymore Also with Aqua-Veiw going out of business, and MarCum getting less expensive, should expand there market.Oh,I bought the LX-5 the next day after my call to them! The ONLY shred of truth in that statement is that Marcum is currently doing so well in this very young ice season, that retailers are having a hard time keeping units on the shelves. Marcum is already undertaking a 2nd production run to meet current demand.

That’s outstanding news Joel on another production run.

Jimmy I’m looking forward to meeting you at the ice show in Syracuse along with enjoying some Dinosaur barbecue
