West Okoboji in NW Iowa has some of the deepest and clearest water around the mid-west.The gills can be very tough to put on the ice somedays.I helped my good friend Scott Reed put his permanent shack on Smiths Bay yesterday. After we got it all ready my middle son Austin started to fish for some of these gills.I thought this was a great picture of a future sight fishermen getting down and dirty in the practice .It hurt ole dads back just watching him fish this way.He also got to see a big muskie come by his bait,he was a little excited to see that.

He’ll be telling his kids that grampa would take him ice fishing and he would spend hours looking down the hole for fish…
Hopefully they will have the same experiance

    Truely a Kodak moment.

Ice fishing in an ice house is great as you can see the fish swim by. Its just like ”fish TV.” Kids will love it and even us older fisherman too. Thats what great about fishing, it brings out the kid in all of us and we all have fun. Thanks, Bill
