Shady Maple, Goose Island Backwater, Stoddard Bay all have good ice. The ice is very smooth, so ice cleats are a very good idea. At GI tonight the fish weren’t biting very hard,(2-3 per hour). but all of them were the size of my hand both gills and crappie. Just as a sidelight there were 7 bucks bucks feeding up by the county maintenance building , and another four back by the water. Many does and fawns all around. I counted 28 bald eagles below the Genoa Dam on the ice 5 or 6 is the most I’ve ever seen there before. Ice is floating and has lot’s of openings, but I wouldn’t be to suprised if there was some safe ice by Saturday. So hard to tell depending on flow.
