Portable Modification Get Together — Sept 26

It’s that time of year again where we need to get together talk ice fishing!

When: Saturday, September 26
Where: Thorne Brothers in Fridley, MN

This will be the 5th year of the portable fish house modifying party! A great way to kick-off the upcoming ice fishing season and an easy way to get together with other ice fishing die hards to talk about ice fishing when the temps are warm.

Come see various modifications that other anglers have done to their fish houses. Also partake/watch modifications being done that day! Also see new product from various reps and manufacturers in attendance!

There will be seminars, free giveaways and food too!

Plastics Under the Ice

Modern Tools for Ice Anglers

Time: 12pm

Modifying Your Portable
Speaker: Chris Hanson
Time: 2pm

So, mark your calender for Saturday, September 26 and join in on the fun!

The Get Together lasts from 9am-5pm. So this should be an action packed day!

There were several IDO members in attendance last year and I’m inviting all of you this year too!

Thorne Brothers goes above and beyond to keep their customers on the cutting edge, all the while providing advice before AND after the sale. That’s what this event is all about. Feel free to come out and kick the tires, learn as much as you can, and make an educated purchase when you’re ready.

I attend every year, just to get in on the latest/greatest, as it typically sees some of the better ice-fishing minds in the upper midwest attending.

Last year, I won a nice reel, and plenty of other door prizes from some great sponsors.

I’ve never attended one of these…but I’ve seen some photo’s of the modifications to the portables.

There are some pretty practical and very creative mods out there. Worth the trip to go see even if a person doesn’t have a fish house.

Will this be at the current location or at the new store?

Always nice to see the Iowa boys making a trip up our way! It will be a pleasure to see you guys again! We’re all about putting the ice fishing die hards in one place at one time!

We will have quite a few companies in attendance showing off their new products. We will also have a lot of food and prizes to giveaway. Best part about the whole day is that we get to talk ice fishing with friends!

I have a little surprise that I plan on bringing this year… put it this way, sky is the limit as to what you can do to one of the new Strikemaster Glide Lite’s

As far as pictures go… I will take as many as I can and I will post them here… I’m sure others will post pictures on some websites too, I will track all of them down and post those here as well…

I went and had a great time many goods deals and good food too.The 3 talks were really good this old dog learned alot from some young guys.Who have the same love of the ice as I do.Cant wait to see what thier new and bigger store will be like.When I am there I am like a kid in the candy store.Thanks agin to Thorne Bros for a great time.ICE JOHN

Matt, Calvin, and all others we met on Saturday, thanks for the good time! Matt, thanks to you and Thorne Bros. esp. for the hospitality, great food, prizes, and store specials that were running the whole day.

I’m in the throes of the whitetail bow season, and driving up to the event, I felt a little out of place heading to an ice-fishing event. After getting there, talking to some folks, and getting squared away with Matt, Pat Smith, and the other great folks at Thorne Bros., I was back in ice-fishing mode as if it were December!

See some of the attached modification pics, though trust me, pictures don’t do this event justice. Next year, make a point of attending this event. Free food, tons of prizes (I think almost everyone walked away with something), great seminars throughout the day, reps from every major ice fishing brand/company you could think of, along with sage advice on products new and old. Alot of ice fishing to digest in one-day!

Feel free to PM me with any questions, but again, this is a don’t-miss event every year for me.

On behalf of Thorne Bros we would like to thank everyone who made it out to the event on Saturday! It was a HUGE success! The attedance was awesome!
