This Saturday 12.20.03, the marina at Lawrence Lake will be holding an ice fishing derby. It starts at 7 am and ends at noon. The entry fee is $10 and the payback is 100%. There will be 5 species available for entry. Bass, Northern Pike, Crappie, Perch and Sunfish. They are hoping to get 50 entries so the payback for biggest fish in each category is $100. All entrants will be allowed to fish either down by the marina or up on the lake.

There are a few of us from this website that are planning on meeting and fishing Saturday in the derby. I welcome anyone to join us for what looks to be a great time! Consider it a mini get together!

Just look for all the cars and trucks..There is a tavern there and a Marina…

Lawrence Lake is about 1 mile north of Brownsville, MN along HWY 26. There is a Tavern (Bissen’s) in Brownsville, though I do not recall, in the past 25 years, a tavern being at the marina.

Hmmm. It must have been the guy selling beer out of his cooler in his trunk !!

    Isn’t that a tavern ?

Sounds like a tavern to me.

“Beer sold out of a cooler in the trunk of a car” spelled backwards screams tavern.
