Crosslake quick report

Here’s a quick update on the Crosslake MN area. Spent Saturday and Sunday chasing early ice pike on Daggett and Little Pine. Found 5-7 ” of good ice with little snow on top. Walking was easy, saw no evidence of anyone trying to use a machine on the ice yet. Found willing biters in 9-12′ on shiners and small suckers with tip-ups. Nothing big, but fair numbers up to 26″. Best times were mid-morning.

Between crosslake and mille lacs, most lakes that were visible from the road had a few guys out on foot, and saw a few permanent shacks out too. Only one shack on the east side of Mille Lacs (from Garrison to Onamia), just south of the reservation maybe 100 yards from the shore. Lots of fog over the middle of the lake, perhaps it isn’t locked up yet.

Tight lines and be safe everyone!

    THANKS BROOK.

I MAY HAVE TO SCHEDULE AN EARLY CABIN RUN TO MERRIFIELD WITH THOSE ICE CONDITIONS.

good report. I live on North Long LAke north of brainerd. we got the permanent out yesterday and managed to get a 22 incher. about 6 inches of good, clear ice out there. tough walking conditions and we couldn’t use the wheelers to put the shack because we had no traction, oh well, got one nice walleye that makes it worth it. good luck fishing.
