Which one would you get for fishing with a 1/8 oz jig?
    Thanks. Dream’n

I think the logical answer is to go to Evert’s, talk to Dean and then use his “try it before you buy it” to demo one and make sure it is perfect. People can talk lengths and actions all day but when you pick up and use the right rod YOU WILL KNOW IT!!!!

You didn’t provide a lot of specifics (species, casting, vertical, etc.) but as a general guide for someone casting jigs for walleye here’s a starting point.

    Mono – 6’8″ Medium XFast
Braid – 6’9″ Medium Light XFast

Those two suggestions will get you in the ballpark and your personal preferences should put a fine point on things once you’ve had a chance to test them both out on the water.

I fished that rod in the Legend Extreme series yesterday while we were dragging 1/8 oz jigs upstream. Fantastic sensitivity, plenty of flex to cast a light offering a long way and plenty of power to bring fish to the net.

And….when a fish hits, its like getting whacked in the arm with a 2×4. Ker-POW…fish on!

I would go with the UL and the only place I think you will find a UL this time of year would from Dean at Everts. You also may want to consider some extra springs. 1/8 is probably a little heavy for the UL spring bobber.

Get the light model and pick up the med/light spring then you can go either way.

I would recommend the medium or medium light- If you are going to be fishing 1/8 ounce spoon, I would guess you are going for walleyes or perch- You want a little bit of a backbone in the rod…

You should probably go with the medium or medium/light and buy both light and medium springs so you can use it for smaller jigs
