    Took the river road from NE IA to the cities Friday. Made stops at New Albin, Brownsville, Wabasha and Red Wing. No treadable ice in my opinion but many backwaters are hard and waiting for consistent cold. Ice fishing may be a possibility by the weekend.

    The Croix near Stillwater has been froze, thawed, and now froze again! I haven’t been down to hop on it yet but I wouldn’t be caught out there yet.
