ugly slushy and marginal

    Thanksgiving weekend got out on a smaller northern Itasca county lake. Ice at 4 inches or so so stayed close to shore. Several inches of snow and much slush. Crappies bit well one evening and not at all the next. Maybe next weekend.

    I made it out on North Long Lake north of brainerd on sunday. the day started out with 3 inches of great ice. the wind and sun though made us exit early. only one flag and my buddy missed it. oh well hopefully this week the ice will continue to freeze at night. good luck fishing.
