Spent over 3 hours drilling holes and watching the flasher. My Cecils were very lonely from noon until 3:30pm. Eliminated a LONG slough as productive water
Set up camp 15 yards from where I walked on the ice at 3:30pm. One last chance! Wasn’t 10 minutes and my Cecil had a friend in the water column Never got an opportunity to meet that friend nor the next dozen or so By then I had cycled through nearly ever Cecil I had in my ice box Pulled out my top secret weapon and finally convinced a stripe back to see the bluff GAME ON for about an hour. 4:30 to 5:30 period saw 3 boys and 4 girls hit the ice. 3 girls got to go back. Had a couple more boys been willing – the 3rd girl would have gotten to go back too. Did have a nice surprise in the hole at one time too. Bent down to scoop him out and seen a mouthful of teeth. Line slacked up and he shook the bait. I estimating an 8 to 10 inch marble eye. Not keeper range but not surprise…..
