ONALASKA — Two ice fishermen were wet and cold but escaped serious injury Wednesday night after both their vehicles broke through the ice on Lake Onalaska, officials said.
The first vehicle sank into the ice about 7 p.m., so the two paired up in the second vehicle only to have its back end go through as well, said Tri-State Ambulance Field Supervisor William Searles.
A bystander helped the men to shore near Hwy. 35 and Troy Street, Searles said.
The two men were treated on site and released, Searles said
